UPDATE: We got back from dinner a few minutes ago and while dressing Charlotte for bed she rolled over and started to "crawl". It wasn't the best crawl I've ever seen but she was able to move herself across the bed!!
Now you guys are in trouble!!
Charlotte and Camille
Today was relatively uneventful. We filled out some paperwork for US immigration and then went to get the babies' passports. Karen is out porcelin shopping with one of the other moms (JiangXi is famous for porcelin). It has been hard to get Charlotte on any kind of schedule as we are always out touring (which is great) or visiting government offices. Today she did get 2 naps so we're hoping she will sleep a bit better tonight. But oh well, plenty of time to get her on a schedule once we are home.
Tomorrow we fly to Guangzhou, home to the US consulate, to complete the US immigration paperwork and medical exam. We are looking forward to Guangzhou, formerly called Canton in the west, because it will be warmer and it is very much geared toward adoptive families; oh yeah and there's lots of shopping.
Charlotte has tasted a few bits of vegetable cereal, congee (a soupy rice poridge), dumplings and of course puffs. She does not appear to have had solid food before....because she really doesn't know what to do with it and shows little interest. So we are slowly experimenting with her. But if you're wondering why she often looks like she is sweating in the pictures.....it's because she is! No, Nanchang is not hot.....it has been in the 40's to about 50F. The reason is we usually take her picture when she is content....that's following a bottle. Charlotte's bottles are made by combining recently boiled water (~150F) with formula. That would peal the skin from our mouths.....but that's what she is used to from the orphanage; she won't drink it any cooler. After she drinks the scalding hot bottle she is pouring down with sweat. Well Charlotte is trying to type on the computer, so before she deletes the whole posting.....I'll say goodnight. By the way...USB cables can apparently double as a chew toy.
Diapers changed = alot
Seeing that smile,
PRICELESS!!

Crawling!!! Maybe she can give Alexandra a lesson. Anyway, it is great to see her pictures everyday and hear about her wonderful progress. All of you look like you have always been together. Good luck with your journey to the next province.
Love, Marybeth
That smile is priceless! What big steps you are taking as a family. Have fun shopping in the south. It has been exciting to follow your travels to this fascinating country. We can't wait to hear your stories. Safe travels!

Crawling will be her first method to track down the cats. Fortunately, for them, they'll still be able to get away from her pretty easily. Next to Camille you really can see that she is tiny. BUT, still beautiful.
Grandma & Grandpa
Oh no Chris - she's crawling. Remember all those cabinets Savannah opens! I'll send Michael over one day when you recover to pu on all those safety devices! And good thing Savannah is getting Mei Mei used to kids as it looks like Charlotte will soon be after them!
Have fun in GZ! We love ya all!
Michael, Ann Marie and Savannah!
Before you know it, she'll be speed crawling!!!Sounds like fun, all that shopping. It's funny that Charlotte won't even go near her formula unless it's so hot! cheryl
