Settled in at Home (Orphanage Update)

Well we are finally on east coast time....it took Charlotte about a week and Mom and Dad a little longer! Charlotte is a delight.....she sleeps 12 to 13 hours a night, straight, and with some prodding takes 2 naps a day. While awake, which I know doesn't sound like it's very often, she is a very happy and bubbly baby. Every day we see new developments! Below are some recent pictures.

ORPHANAGE UPDATE:
Here is the belated orphanage info. The orphanage is small, as they go, with about 40 babies at a time. The nannies at the orphanage were very caring and were excited to see us return with our daughters. They kissed and hugged the girls and there were many tears shed! Our daughters were the first group to be internationally adopted from this orphanage, so their return visit and subsequent leaving was a momentous and emotional occasion.

Below are some heart-wrenching pictures of babies still at the orphanage. Some will be placed for adoption....in fact a set of referrals went out at the end of November for babies from this orphanage. Some of the kids in the pictures may be united with their Forever Families in January. Sadly, some may not be adopted. Here comes the plug.....if you would like to help children in Chinese orphanages, those that will be adopted and those that won't, please visit and support Love Without Boundaries and Half The Sky Foundation (links for their websites are located to the left).

Half The Sky Foundation: Provides individual nurture and stimulation for babies, innovative preschools that encourage an early love of learning, personalized learning opportunities for older children, and loving — and most important, permanent — foster homes for children whose special needs will keep them from being adopted.

Love Without Boundaries: Consists of volunteers that provide surgery and medical care, food, foster care and education for children in Chinese orphanages.

Karen and Chris,
Charlotte looks right at home in the pictures. She seems to have a good sleep pattern. She is such a beauty. Charlotte is very lucky to have both of you as parents. I wish all of the other babies will be as lucky. Keep the pictures and updates coming. We hope to visit with all of you soon.
Love, Carol

Now you know the secret, you DO NOT have to buy any kiddie toys, just let Charlotte play with the cats toys or empty boxes..... glad to hear she is a good sleeper, makes a TON of difference. Hugs to all!

Love,

Auntie Jill

Love that smile!!! Contentment= good nap+full belly+dry diaper. Sometimes it's just as easy as that. Thanks for the update, we've been waiting for news and more pictures. Keep 'em coming!

We've just spent 10 days with a very special little girl. It's hard to imagine our family without her. She is a doll.
