Charlotte's Summer

I know it has been a long time since I updated.....but Charlotte has had a VERY busy summer!! Once she got over the Coxsackie virus, we traveled to Long Island to visit Grandma and Grandpa and for Charlotte to meet her extended family. Charlotte did very well on the plane....even sitting on the runway for 2 hours!! She had a great time playing with her cousins and climbing the stairs at Grandma and Grandpa's house. A couple of weeks later we traveled to upstate New York to visit Grandma and Pop Pop and to meet the rest of the extended family. Once again Charlotte did well on the flights, and this time we remembered the portable DVD player!! She had a great time with her cousin Alexandra and climbing yet another set of stairs. We took her to an amusement park where she went on a merry-go-round for the first time. In between trips we even managed a short stay in Wilmington....I think Charlotte was starting to wonder where home was. We also had a busy Labor Day weekend. We visited one of Charlotte's orphanage mates, Camille and her mom Jeanne. It was great to see both of them and the girls had a lot of fun "sharing" toys and playing in the park. We finished off the weekend at a cookout with our neighbors Mike, Ann Marie and Savannah. They have the largest kiddie pool in the state, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. For the adults....great food, drink and company!!

As for Charlotte....she had her 18 month appointment at the pediatrician and weighs 20.5 lbs and is 30 3/4 inches tall. She took her first steps July 10 and now is a pro. She loves walking up and down the driveway picking up sticks and pine needles for me. Now that she has the walking thing down....she is jabbering quite a bit more and understands most everything we say.
